The 100 Greatest Country Albums of All Time are a very diverse group, but they all have one thing in common: in one way or another, all of the albums on our list made a significant contribution to changing the course of country music.

There are certain artists you can't possibly pass by when you're rounding up the best country albums ever made — contributions from all-time greats like George Jones, Willie Nelson, Dolly Parton and Johnny Cash are all represented in the greatest country albums of all time, but so are more modern-day classics from artists including Shania Twain, Garth Brooks, Faith Hill and Keith Urban, along with many more.

We took into consideration several different criteria to rate the 100 greatest country albums of all time, including, but not limited to sales, critical reception and longterm influence, as well as a balance of the personal opinions and evaluations of the staff of Taste of Country. The result is a broad-based and multi-faceted list that we feel has much to offer, both musically and historically, for any true aficionado of country music, from the casual fan all the way up to the serious country music historian.

Of course, there will always be those who disagree. Did we leave out any artists and albums that you feel we should have included, or include an album you don't agree with? Let us know in the comments section below!
