As the year comes to a close, I always like to reflect on the year in music. This is a best of the best list, this is the 'cream that rose to the top'. Will names like Strait or Chesney make it on this list? I'm not wasting anymore time, let's count down the top 10 songs of 2012. With his baby face, boyish good-looks and smooth as silk vocals, Hunter Hayes managed to work his way to the #7 spot in our Top 10 of 2012.

The song 'Wanted' was "officially" released in March 2012 as the second single from his debut, self titled studio album, 'Hunter Hayes.' 'Wanted' entered the charts at #57 on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart in February,2012. Hayes co-wrote the song with with friend Troy Verges and 'Wanted' sold over 1,000,000 copies in USA alone. "Wanted" became Hayes' first Number One single. The song's peak at the #1 position also made Hayes the youngest male country vocalist (by only three months and one week) to top the Hot Country chart, beating the record held in 1973 by Johnny Rodriguez's "You Always Come Back to Hurting Me". It just recently debuted at #40 on the U.S. Billboard Adult Pop Songs chart in November, 2012.

The Country Music Association’s best New Artist of 2012 earned his trophy because of his music only mentality. Hunter's always thinking, talking or working on his music. Hayes works at polishing his craft all the time. Here's what Hunter said about his tunnel vision focus.

“With me, it’s always going to be music,” he states. “That’s the one thing I know. That is my thing. That is my place. I make music because it’s the only way I can breathe. This is how I want to spend the rest of my life.”
