Aaron Lewis Remembers ‘Good Friend’ Chester Bennington Onstge [WATCH]
The death of Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington shocked the rock community on Thursday (July 20). That evening, Aaron Lewis spent some time onstage paying tribute to Bennington, "a really good friend" of his.
Hours after news of Bennington's death broke, Lewis performed at New Hampshire's Hampton Beach Casino. He told the crowd, "I'm not really sure why he chose to take his own life, but it's been a really sad day," and dedicated his song "Something to Remind You" to Bennington. Lewis has been pursuing a solo career in country music for a number of years now, but prior to that, he was the frontman for the rock band Staind. "Something to Remind You" is the final track on the group's 2011 self-titled album. Both Linkin Park and Staind rose to popularity around the same time in the early and mid-2000s, and toured together, including on the Family Values Tour in 2001.
Lewis released his latest album, Sinner, in September of 2016; the record landed the singer the No. 1 spot on Billboard‘s Top 200 and Top Country Albums charts. This fall, he will be touring with Blackberry Smoke.
