A couple weeks ago we joined in on the fun, reporting about ‘The Voice‘ coaches Blake Shelton and Adam Levine and their budding bromance. And while Shelton still playfully jokes that he’d like to make out with his Maroon 5-fronting co-judge, it seems Levine has just one request we need to take into consideration: He’s not too keen on the whole “bromance” word. In a recent interview with PEOPLE, the two, who are good friends in real life, talked about their friendship, and Levine requested a ban on a certain b-word.
Who doesn’t love a great cover? We thought we’d seen it all when Willie Nelson covered Coldplay’s ‘The Scientist,’ but then indie pop group fun. released their own acoustic version of Lady Antebellum‘s ‘We Owned the Night’ on SiriusXM (see below), and we admit we’re a little smitten.
She was one of the last holdouts on the 140-character social networking site, but even though Carrie Underwood finally joined Twitter about a month ago, she admits she’s still a little hesitant about it. From the moment she first tweeted “Hello Twitter World!” on Feb. 24, Underwood has used the site primarily to talk about the progress of her upcoming album ‘Blown Away,’ her most recent single ‘Good Girl,’ her surprise ’80s birthday party and the occasional post featuring her dogs or hockey playing husband Mike Fisher. But the songstress says the Twitterverse is not a place where she’s going to get too personal.
Friday morning (March 23), Taylor Swift appearance on Kelly Ripa’s show ‘Live! With Kelly’ re-aired, with the singer talking about the upcoming 2012 ACM Awards, the shiny trophies she already has on her shelf and what it’s like to be a role model for millions of young girls.
CBS’ afternoon talk show ‘The Talk’ is getting a bit of a country makeover — but only for one week. In honor of the 2012 Academy of Country Music Awards, the show, which stars hosts Sharon Osbourne, Julie Chen, Leah Remini and Sheryl Underwood, is going country. The hosts will invite a cast of celebrity country acts to come perform, co-host and, well, talk with them during the week leading up to the 47th Annual ACM Awards.
If there’s one thing ‘American Idol‘ seems to love as much as discovering the newest talent, it’s inviting their alums back for a moment in the spotlight. It’s always so incredible to how performers who were once anxious hopefuls develop into such poised, self-assured stars in no time. Next week, the past ‘Idol’ winner who will be coming back to show off how he’s changed in a year is Scotty McCreery, and he’ll be joined by rap princess Nicki Minaj.
When Luke Bryan premiered his video for ‘I Don’t Want This Night to End‘ in November 2011, he broke the mold of the traditional music video, showing off his acting skills with a storyline and dialogue interspersed throughout the song. But that video ended on a cliffhanger with the words “to be continued” flashing across the screen. Friday, Bryan premiered his ‘Drunk on You’ video which provides a nice ending to what was previously unresolved.
Could it be true? On Thursday, it was reported that Universal is kicking around the idea of filming a sequel to the box office hit Dr. Seuss film ‘The Lorax,’ which stars Taylor Swift and Zac Efron. While this may or may not simply be a rumor, it seems Universal would have to be crazy not to at least consider the idea with as well as the first movie is doing.
On Wednesday, Texas native and 2010 ‘American Idol‘ finalist Casey James made an appearance on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ to perform the lead single from his self-titled debut, which just dropped March 20. Performing ‘Let’s Don’t Call It a Night’ for the studio and television audiences, James seemed quite relaxed and natural wielding his electric guitar with his band.

In 2010, Alan Jackson and his family received the news no one ever wants to hear. His wife, Denise Jackson, had been diagnosed with cancer. In an episode of GAC’s ‘Backstory’ last year, the ’Chattahoochee’ singer confessed what a difficult time it was for him to see his high school sweetheart suffering, saying, “To see her go through that, it was the hardest thing I’ve ever been through. I’ve been taking care of her since she was 16, but I couldn’t do anything to help her. It was tough.”
