Medical City’s air ambulance plane begins flying this week, with a stop in Abilene Wednesday at Abilene Aero, 2850 Airport Boulevard. The public is invited to come out from 1 – 6 p.m. Flight nurses will show the air ambulance to children, and give them toy glider planes. Admission is free.
Yard sales are an Abilene weekend staple pretty much any time of the year, but April through September is clearly the busy season. So here are some tips and inside pointers to making your yard sale experience work for you.
Saturday was a banner day for Big Brothers Big Sisters in Abilene. Thanks to the efforts of Communities of Abilene Federal Credit Union (CoAFCU) and their third annual “Skip-A-Loan Payment” Program, the largest single contribution in the history of BBBS in Abilene was presented at their annual “Big Picnic” at Festival Gardens near Abilene Zoo.

The Abilene Zoo will be holding an Earth Day celebration Saturday. In addition to the normal zoo activities(looking at, feeding and petting animals), visitors will be treated to fun and informative activities, aimed at raising awareness of animal conservation efforts.
