I wasn't born in Texas, but I got here as quick as I could. I'm originally from Battle Creek, Michigan (home of Tony the Tiger). I've got two kids who take up most of my time out of the office, but when I get "me time", I'm either taking in some live music or a sporting event. Since relocating, I also fell in love with the Texas music scene. I've been lucky enough to be nominated for DJ of the Year 4 straight years by the Academy of Texas Music, and was the 2009 recipient of the Academy's Palmwood Award. I'm a huge sports fan, and my loyalties are with the Michigan Wolverines, Chicago White Sox and (sorry) the Pittsburgh Steelers.

12-Year Old Girl Decides to Leave School that Kicked Her Off the Football Team
A while back, we told the story of 12-year old Maddy Blythe, a 7th grade girl who was kicked off the football team at a Christian middle school in Georgia, basically because she's a girl. This young lady didn't take the news well, and neither did the tens of thousands of supporters she gained across the country.

"When the album of life finally reaches the end wouldn't it be nice to have that record spinning for eternity?" AndVinyl.com, a website that offers the opportunity to have your ashes pressed into a vinyl record, poses that question. That's right, you can be laid to rest spinning at 33 1/3 rpm!
Watch a Bumblebee Give a High Five, Because You Will Never See it Happen Again
I watched 'Bee Movie' with my son, who was seven at the time. He loved it. However, the film, about bees talking and living among humans, demanding human-like rights and doing human things was lost on me. I didn't buy into bees acting like people. I was a non-Bee-liever.
But how ridiculous is this story plot? New video evidence shows that 'Bee Movie' may not be such a far-fetched idea.
Keith Urban Unveils Line of Hallmark Greeting Cards
In a world where country singers have their own line of fragrances, clothes, shoes and pretty much anything else that they can attach their name to, Keith Urban will be following in the footsteps of fellow country/pop crossover star Taylor Swift by putting his name - and music - on greeting cards.
Two Tons of Steel, ‘Unraveled’ is a Music-Lover’s Album – CD Review
I have to admit, I wasn't familiar with Two Tons of Steel until the band released 'Not That Lucky' a few years back. But from first listen, I was hooked. I loved the fact that there was a band that could be far off the beaten path, yet sound so cool and polished and professional. Their new CD, 'Unraveled', features more of that quirky coolness that we've come to expect from Two Tons, and more.

The New Kyle Park Music Video, ‘Fit for the King’ is a Great Tribute to George Strait
Kyle Park, like many other Texas country artists, owes a debt of gratitude to George Strait for paving the path to success and inspiring several of today's stars. While he jokingly told me in a recent interview that he would marry George if he could, Kyle found a very special - and more fitting - way to honor Strait with his latest single and video, 'Fit for the King'.
