I wasn't born in Texas, but I got here as quick as I could. I'm originally from Battle Creek, Michigan (home of Tony the Tiger). I've got two kids who take up most of my time out of the office, but when I get "me time", I'm either taking in some live music or a sporting event. Since relocating, I also fell in love with the Texas music scene. I've been lucky enough to be nominated for DJ of the Year 4 straight years by the Academy of Texas Music, and was the 2009 recipient of the Academy's Palmwood Award. I'm a huge sports fan, and my loyalties are with the Michigan Wolverines, Chicago White Sox and (sorry) the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Dave Discovers Nina Conti, a Hilarious Comic Who is Safe to Watch With Kids and Coworkers
I caught myself spending too much time on Facebook again recently, and came across a video one of my friends posted. I don't usually mess around with video clips over a minute long, but for some reason I clicked this one. And it turned out to be worth the extra time.
My Love of Twizzlers Surfaces as My Townsquare Media Coworkers Eagerly Point Out
I was walking through the hallway of the Townsquare Media studios, when I noticed an odd-looking, handwritten note posted on the door of the on-air studio I use on a daily basis. This message was not so much instructional as it was a commentary on just how many Twizzlers I'm capable of consuming in a day...

Dave Relives His Childhood by Taking His Kids Through the Car Wash
A fond memory I have of my childhood is when my mom would surprise me and my younger brother, Greg, with a trip through the car wash. It was always such a pleasant, wonderful surprise when she pulled our family station wagon into the full service wash and asked for the "hot wax". What followed was 2-3 minutes of childhood bliss. I'm happy to report that some things never change, and my k
Listen to Kristen Kelly’s Live Acoustic Performance Before She Became a Country Music Star
With the success of her song 'Ex Old Man', and the fact that her follow-up, 'He Loves to Make Me Cry' is moving up the country charts, it's hard to argue against the fact that Kristen Kelly is a rising star in the country music world. But she's not an overnight success by any means. Without hard work, perseverance and a lot of talent, the singer with small town, East Texas roots wouldn't be where

Doctors Inject HIV Into Girl Dying of Cancer in an Attempt to Fight ‘Fire With Fire’
My brother Jeff is a cancer survivor, and has a particularly soft spot in his heart for children who battle the disease that knocked him down, but not out. Jeff shared a video that absolutely shocked me, and I'm still having trouble wrapping my brain around.
Seventh Grade Girl Kicked Off the Football Team Because ‘Boys Have Lustful Thoughts and Bad Language’
Strong Rock Christian Middle School in Georgia will be missing a Defensive Tackle from their football roster this fall after being kicked off the team. Not because of bad grades, or poor behavior, or even for lack of talent. The explanation for dismissing 12-year old Maddy Blythe is what has people up in arms.
