I wasn't born in Texas, but I got here as quick as I could. I'm originally from Battle Creek, Michigan (home of Tony the Tiger). I've got two kids who take up most of my time out of the office, but when I get "me time", I'm either taking in some live music or a sporting event. Since relocating, I also fell in love with the Texas music scene. I've been lucky enough to be nominated for DJ of the Year 4 straight years by the Academy of Texas Music, and was the 2009 recipient of the Academy's Palmwood Award. I'm a huge sports fan, and my loyalties are with the Michigan Wolverines, Chicago White Sox and (sorry) the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Michigan Wolverines Quarterback Shane Morris Throws a Long Pass to Himself
There's a video circulating about Gary Haynes, a high school football player who throws a football into an open field, then races under it to catch his own pass. Some have questioned the authenticity of the 6-second clip, but just as quickly, we have another athlete that proves the feat is not so far-fetched.

New Jason Allen Song ‘I Did’ Gives a Message of Hope
To me, Jason Allen will always be the Texas country singer who knows how to translate lyrics into pure emotion. He has done some heartfelt, tear-jerking ballads the song, but Jason's latest single, 'I Did' has a more happy feel.

5 Things That I Believe Will Be Gone In 20 Years
When I was born, society hadn't even dreamed about how important computers would be in our everyday lives. But in less than twenty years, they have become something that most of us can't live without. At the same time, there are several things that have disappeared from existence in that same time frame. For instance, VHS tapes. How about toys in cereal boxes? And when is the last time you made a collect call? These are just a few examples. This makes me think and wonder what part of our everyday lives will no longer be around in 20 years. I've compiled a list of my Top 5. Let me know if you disagree, or if I missed any.

Dave Turns April 15th From “Tax Day” To “National Procrastinator’s Day”
As Americans, April 15th has been embedded in our minds as the dreaded "Tax Day", where everybody who owes the I.R.S. had better pay up, or else! I want to change the way we view this day, so instead of going through the motions of being forced to pay my hard-earned money to Uncle Sam, I am going to celebrate "Procrastinator's Day"!
Dave Chooses to Look at Paying Taxes as a Good Thing
For several years now, I've found reasons to use a motto loosely borrowed from comedian Bill Hicks. The basic intention of this brief saying helps me find a fresh perspective on life's situations that may seem negative at first glance. The motto? "It's all in how you look at it.". Tax season reminds me of this saying.
Mercy Me are Coming to Abilene April 27th
It's been awhile since Christian rockers Mercy Me last played in Abilene, but their shows are still fresh in the memories of those who attended. Ask anyone who has seen Mercy Me, and they'll tell you the "I Can Only Imagine" hit makers put on an awesome show. Along with special guests Citizen Way and Jamie Grace, Mercy Me will be back in Abilene on April 27th at the Taylor County Expo Ce

Dave Finds Out More About the Little Boy Who Surprised a Guitar Shop Owner With His Incredible Voice
There's a video circulating on the web of a little boy with a huge voice, belting out a soulful blues tune in a music store to the amazement of the owner. I watched this video and was just about as surprised as the guy behind the counter appears to be.
Whataburger’s New Jalapeno Cheddar Biscuit Gets a Taste Test From Dave, Shay and Chaz
I know a lot of people who flip out every time McDonald's brings back the McRib. I've got friends who can't get through a week without a trip to Sonic for their addictive tots. For me, I'm always searching for something different. And that's what I hoped to find when I heard about a brand new breakfast sandwich at Whataburger.
