Don’t Drive a Car Right After Watching ‘Baby Driver’s Exhilarating Opening Chase Scene
Edgar Wright’s Baby Driver is already the director’s most successful film to date, with a $76 million worldwide take so far on a budget of $34 million. But the movie has yet to open in a bunch of countries, including Germany, Brazil, Japan, and more (it only just had its Australian premiere, courtesy of George Miller). So, to get more bods in theater seats, Universal has released the entire opening bank heist and car chase scene from the movie on YouTube. Even if you’ve already seen the movie, you gotta watch this again. And turn your volume up.
Woody Harrelson Hangs Out With Han and Chewie in New ‘Han Solo’ Set Photos
We haven’t seen too much of the Han Solo movie, except for all that hot goss about why Phil Lord and Chris Miller left the project, but the set photos have been trickling in. Yesterday, a couple pictures surfaced from the set of our young Han (Alden Ehrenreich), Chewbacca, and Woody Harrelson’s mysterious character together and in costume on set.
‘Final Portrait’ Trailer: Modeling Is Hard, Even If You’re Armie Hammer
Amongst all the Spider-Man: Homecomings and Transformers: The Last Knights and Wonder Womans, it’s good to see that the cinema still has room for nice, self-contained little films about eccentric painters and their odd, funny relationships with their normie friends. Final Portrait casts the inimitable Geoffrey Rush as expressionist painter Alberto Giacometti and Armie Hammer as his art connoisseur buddy James Lord, who agrees to pose for Giacometti for what he believes to be his last work.
Val Kilmer Is Absolutely Ready to Reprise Iceman in ‘Top Gun 2’
Tom Cruise was very excited to announce earlier this week that Top Gun 2 is officially happening, and it looks like at least one of the original movie’s stars is extremely ready to get back in the cockpit. Val Kilmer played Top Gun’s Iceman, and he wants us all to know that he is so ready to come back.
Tom Cruise Just Confirmed ‘Top Gun 2’ Is Happening, May Start Production This Year
Some days it seems like a new sequel rumor hits the Internet every day. Whispers of Top Gun 2 have been floating around the stratosphere for a few years, with the movie even getting a screenwriter at one point, Val Kilmer vowing to return, and even a mysterious meeting with Jerry Bruckheimer. Sometimes, because of timing or lack of resources or myriad other reasons, sequels just don’t end up happening even if they’re hyped. But today brings good news for Top Gun 2 hopefuls: it’s definitely happening, and Tom Cruise himself says it’ll start filming within the next twelve months.
All of Your Faves Are Back in the International ‘Pirates of the Caribbean 5’ Trailer
A certain branch of criticism against the fourth Pirates of the Caribbean movie back when it came out in 2011 focused on the fact that this was the first one with barely a trace of Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann, two characters we’d all grown to love through a trilogy of movies, and, arguably, who are the actual heart and soul of the series. Without them, On Stranger Tides felt adrift, unable to find an emotional focus despite introducing a new generation of generically attractive leads. The good news for those of us who have stuck with the series this far is, thanks to the new international trailer, we know Elizabeth is coming back too. Along with a few more of Captain Jack’s “friends.”
‘Life’ Red-Band Trailer Asks: ‘What Have We Done?’
The newest trailer for sci-fi horror film Life is probably its best yet. We already know the basic plot, thanks to the other trailers that have been released (scientists on a space station find a living organism floating through the void that turns out to be a not-so-friendly extraterrestrial monster), so this trailer can be as short and sweet as it wants, while giving us some more of that squicky human hand vs. gross alien tentacle action. Spoiler alert: the hand loses.
Amuse Your Bouche With the First ‘The Trip to Spain’ Teaser
Rob Brydon and Steve Coogan’s The Trip franchise is quite possibly the most pure and fun series of films out there. Sure, you’ve got your Avengers and your X-Men and your Dom Torettos, but sometimes it’s nice to just sit back and enjoy two hilarious actors go on road trips across Europe together. We’ve been with them through England, Italy, and now they’re off to gorge themselves on pasta primavera in Spain, and we’ve got your first look at the road ahead.
New ‘Power Rangers’ Trailer Pretty Much Shows Us the Whole Movie
New York’s hottest club is today’s Power Rangers trailer. It has everything: teens breaking sinks, dinosaur robots, Bryan Cranston’s giant head, and Bill Hader punching a tiny homunculus made of dirt. Not to mention Elizabeth Banks in an uncomfortable green suit building a monster out of metallic Silly Putty. Man, there’s a lot going on in this movie.
Jada Pinkett Smith Has a Little Too Much to Drink in ‘Girls Trip’ Red Band Trailer
There’s a definite appeal to all of these recent movies featuring grown women getting up to the kind of antics we’d normally expect from the college-aged sorority girls from those crazy recruitment videos. Director Malcolm D. Lee, of The Best Man and The Best Man Holiday, is giving us a Bridesmaids-style caper with an entirely black cast in Girls Trip, and from the looks of the new trailer, it could be a similar hit. This is Queen Latifah and Jada Pinkett Smith we’re talking about.
‘Catfight’ Trailer: Sandra Oh and Anne Heche Are Locked in an Endless Battle
It’s not often that we get a female-driven black comedy that centers solely around its two protagonists beating the living daylights out of each other. Actually, I can’t even think of one. Onur Turkel’s Catfight stars Sandra Oh and Anne Heche as college nemeses who reunite accidentally at a dinner party, and after more than a few drinks and a couple stairwell meltdowns, they begin a tooth-and-nail battle royale that’ll last for the next few years.
‘Logan’ Gifts Us With Two More Images, Plus a Trailer Announcement!
Logan looks like no other superhero movie we’ve ever seen before, and Hugh Jackman and James Mangold have been especially plugging its desolate, dingy look. They’ve given us image after image, all of which have kept this really great post-apocalyptic western look. Today, They’ve given us one more in preparation for tomorrow’s new trailer, which Jackman seems very excited about.
