As the world knows already, character actor Frank Grillo was recently cast as the villainous Crossbones in 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier.' These days, when you're lucky enough to find yourself in a Marvel movie, it seems as though you're gearing up not just for one flick, but for two or three. (Unless you're Hugo Weaving.) So does that indicate that Grillo's Crossbones will be making an appearance in a certain mega-gigantic-super-sequel that is scheduled for a May 1, 2015 release?
Earlier this week we learned some potentially huge James Bond news. A report circulated that 'Skyfall' screenwriter John Logan (who we know is returning for the series' next installment) had secretly plotted a two-part plot line for 'Bond 24' and '25,' which would be a rather major turn of events. Today, however, we're learning from 007 himself not to believe the hype.
Elijah Wood is really getting into the Halloween spirit. The actor, who used to be associated with Hobbits and tap-dancing penguins, has been immersing himself into the horror genre lately with relish and continues the streak with 'Cooties,' a new horror-comedy about murderous children he'll both star in and produce.
The latest 'Riddick' adventure starring Vin Diesel is in the can and awaiting distribution. We're still unsure of when it will come out (Universal will release it sometime in 2013), but what we do know is what it will be rated. Did it go the PG-13 route of 'The Chronicles of Riddick', or did it stick to its guns and rock a hard-R (like its granddaddy, 'Pitch Black')? Find out after the break!
This Halloween, most of us will be doing one of two things (or both): Watching scary movies, and gorging ourselves with candy. But you needn't feel guilty after your third 'Friday the 13th' movie and your tenth fun size Snickers bar: a new study has found that watching horror movies can actually burn hundreds of calories! Fire up Netflix and break out the candy corn!
Some of us are lucky enough to have seen 'Skyfall' already; indeed, it can safely be said that it earns the hype it's receiving as one of the best Bond movies ever. Just thrilling entertainment from start to finish. Part of its power stems from a complex, incisive, character-driven screenplay, and it looks like the Bond producers are well aware of that, as they've just hired one of the writers back for the next installment.
Some heroes aren't born, they're made. And some of those heroes make heroic, super-cool things. Like 'Star Wars' fan Chris Lee, who, it has come to our attention, has embarked on a cool-thing-making mission of true courage that could change the courses of all our lives.
Yes, friends, Mr. Lee is building a full scale Millennium Falcon.
Ang Lee's adaptation of 'Life of Pi' garnered rave reviews after its premiere at the New York Film Festival, with many lauding its celebration of the human spirit as well as its technical prowess. (Its use of 3D is said to rival 'Avatar.') While this was apparent in the official movie trailer and clips, an additional brief peek into this fantastical world Lee created has just hit and it's definitely worth your 54-seconds.
'Skyfall' is only a few weeks away; can you feel the palpable excitement? The Sam Mendes-directed film is garnering some of the best reviews any James Bond flick has ever received, and to help amp up the anticipation, we've got a new clip to share with you.
As we're all well aware, 'The Wolverine' is currently in production in Australia with a jacked Hugh Jackman once again sinking his teeth into the role of Logan. We also know that the film sports a supporting cast of predominantly unknown actors; or, at the very least, actors who aren't largely familiar to worldwide audiences. But rumor has it a recognizable face is joining Jackman in Sydney for a brief but potentially fascinating cameo. Who could it be...?
In major news for both the movie and video game worlds, it has been announced via press release that New Regency and Ubisoft are teaming up to develop the film version of the wildly successful 'Assassin's Creed' franchise we heard about a few months back. Michael Fassbender, who has been attached to the project since July, is still on board, but will it be in the lead role?
Amy Adams is likely on her way to a fourth Oscar nomination for her intense work in Paul Thomas Anderson's 'The Master'; actually, it could end up being her first (overdue) win. But if she doesn't bring home a statue that evening, she'll probably get another shot during the 2014 Oscars, as the actress is set to play Janis Joplin for 'Precious' director Lee Daniels. And that simply sounds like gold to us.
