The Women of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church will be hosting their annual 'Christmas Bazaar' on Saturday, December 1st and Sunday, December 2nd on the church property.

This will be a 'brown bag' luncheon workshop with drinks and desert provided.

November 18, 2012 The Brazos Forks District of the Boy Scouts will hold their annual 'Winter Camporee' in West Texas. Webelo Scouts from all over the Lone Star State will soon converge on Lake Daniel just south of Breckenridge Texas. The scouting event is set for December 7th through the 9th. Last month the 'Boy Scouts' held a camping event at the Camp Tonkawa camp just out side of Buffalo Gap Texas. This event in Breckenridge is designed to challenge scouts because of the unpredictability of the weather.
November 17, 2012 The 2012 Clyde America Merry Market is a one-day outdoor Christmas Market in Clyde, Texas. The event is scheduled for Saturday, December 1st. Erica Stallings, the Clyde Chamber of Commerce Executive Director says "almost anything goes if you're a vendor, what we will not allow to be sold at our Merry Market are live animals, tobacco or alcohol." While just about anything else is fine to display and sell Erica said "it's still a Family event."
October 19, 2012 It's fifth year for the Abilene Preservation League's 'Haunted Abilene'. This year Preservation League member Janet Payne said "there’s even more to do this year. Every year we like to add to the Haunted Abilene event, and this year is no different." On October 26th and 27th tour the old Swenson House where you'll be greeted by a ghost. Stay if you dare at the old 'Dead and Breakfast' or visit the Death Chamber.
October 18, 2012 Take a little trip back in time, back to when transportation involved a horse or mule, cooking a meal involved stoking the fire and the buffalo roamed the plains of West Texas. The Friends of the Abilene State Park Association is holding a Frontier Day at the State Park in Buffalo Gap on Saturday November 3rd. October 4, 2012 The McMurry Marching Band is having a big 'fundraiser garage sale' this Saturday, October 6th. The event will benefit the McMurry Band and the new band service organization, Kappa Kappa Psi. Keith Lloyd the assistant Director of Bands says "we're clearing out closets, storage buildings and other rooms of all the old band things we no longer need". Not only 'band' related items will be for sale.
September 20, 2012 Before the month of September passes us by, I think we should all participate in 'National Preparedness Month' as it's designated by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). We all know how fast and how bad the weather gets here in West Texas. If (heaven forbid), a tornado or flood should hit or a wild-fire takes your home, are you ready?
