July 13, 2011 Singer Jewel and rodeo star Ty Murry are happy parents now. Their son Kase Townes Murray was born Monday July 11, around 7 p.m. Kase weighed 7 pounds 6 ounces and was 21 inches long. Ty and Jewel reside in Texas, Stephenville to be exact. Momma Jewel spoke to People Magazine saying, "Ty and I are so pleased to welcome our new baby boy into the world, we are so overcome with happiness it really is as great as everyone told us it would be, better even!"

July 11, 2011 The 2011 Dachshund Races will be Thursday July 21 at the Festival Gardens across from the Abilene Zoo. For the last four years I have been the master of ceremonies and race track announcer. There have been times where I could not contain my laughter during a race because those low-rider dogs are so unpredictable and funny. I can honestly say that dachshund races are funnier to watch than a monkey riding a dog. While the races are fun and has brought hundreds of dachshunds to the race in previous years, this years race brings an additional challenge of 87 rescued dachshunds from Mesquite that are needing homes.

July 9, 2011 One of my coworkers asked me a question that has been bugging her for over 7 years now. She recently hurt her hand and was trying to adjust to the "one arm world" and not doing very well. I told her I'm not the one that's handicapped people with two arms are in my opinion, because you need two hands to do almost every daily routine. Well, out of fear of sounding rude or being nosy, she never asked but now she just had to know "how do you tie your shoes with just one hand Rudy?"

Miss Swift will have to reschedule all her sold out shows. Now, over the holiday weekend she canceled her Louisville concert, that is when a fan posted a parody Taylor Swift song where the little girl sings about the cancellation, rescheduling and get well wish too.
