This years crawfish and shrimp boil is being prepared by Two Daddy's Crawfish from Bosier City, Louisiana. Two Daddy's is known the world over for their authentic Cajun Cuisine. April 4, 2013 Have you got some old coins or stamps you think might be worth something? I think I do. My dad just gave me what was my late mothers penny collection. While I thought of taking the big five gallon bottle to Coin Star (an idea my boss gave me) and cashing all those little Lincolns in. My wife Donna says "what if there's a 1943 copper penny in there?" So, I contacted the local Key City Coin, Stamp and Sportscard Club (I was a member of in the late '70's.) To my surprise the club still meets, every first Thursday of the month at the senior citizens center at Rose Park.
April 4, 2013 When I first saw the video on this Hovercraft golf cart, I thought, it's only for movies or maybe even an April Fools prank. Then Monday, I saw a newspaper story about "the hottest thing coming to golf courses across the country." Stop and think of the possibilities, driving this bad boy to work on a Abilene rainy day when the streets get flooded. With this hovercraft cart, flooded streets are not a problem anymore.
April 3, 2013 The last time country music fans saw George Strait and Garth Brooks together on the same stage was when George Strait was inducted as Artist of the Decade in May 2009. Now, it appears the Academy of Country Music Association (ACM) has done it again. On Sunday April 7th, the two country music giants will appear together again on the same stage.
April 3, 2013 Over the Easter holiday weekend I spent some time with family. In fact, my wife Donna, our little girl Angie and I all went to Donna's grandma and grandpa Allison's house for Easter Sunday dinner. Over the course of the meal grandpa tells me that he has been working on his tractor and asked if I could help him locate a tire for his big Ford tractor. I told him I would take care of it and that he need not mess with it (after all he is 97 years old.) He then tells me "I've almost got it all the way off already."
April 1, 2013 Yep! We got it the single before it was even released to radio, the new LoCash Cowboys single "Chase A Little Love" is the first single from their forth coming summer album. By the sounds of what I'm hearing, LoCash Cowboys spent their time wisely in the studio writing and producing this project. "Chase A Little Love" was written by Preston Brust, but Chris Lucas takes the lead vocal on this one.
March 31, 2013 Who can remember when Katie Armiger turned "17 In Abilene"? It was not only the title to her first song, but in 2007 the young Sugar Land, Texas native dropped in on us and celebrated her 17th birthday here in Abilene. That was then, today, that same little girl is now a 23 year old young lady with a hot new single and video titled "Playin With Fire." She's grown up and so has her music subject matter. Katie Talks about how she came up with this song idea and who she co-wrote it with.

Jake Owen will tell you, “I have a huge scar on my shoulder that's there to remind me about the one dark time in my life when, I wasn’t doing what I was supposed to be doing. What I was supposed to be doing, was something that fulfilled my music." Jake is now in line with what he is supposed to be doing and that is singing his songs, touring and selling out shows. If you've been to one of his 'The Summer Never Ends' shows, then you know that a lot of thought, rehearsal and planning went into his show.
March 27, 2013 Ray Stevens is at it again with his new song 'Red Hot Chili Cookoff.' It's pretty funny if you ask me, because I competed for many years in the Ben Richey Boys Ranch Chili Cookoff. Now as I recall, we were always being asked by visitors "is your chili hot?" And in my best Texas accent I would reply "Why of course it's hot, that's what it's supposed to be chili, hot!" It never failed though, those foreigners from far away places like Kansas, New York, or California would end up judging. March 26, 2013 The Empty Bowls Project is a fundraising event where you pay $10.00 for a bowl of soup and some bread or crackers, and when you're done eating, you get to keep the bowl. All the bowls are one-of-a-kind hand crafted by artisans from around the Big Country and the Lone Star State. All funds raised go directly back into our community to feed the hungry, through church/community kitchens and/or pantries.
