March 13, 2013 Since mom passed a couple years ago I've been looking after my aging father and it can get pretty interesting at times, especially when you've got a dad like mine (half drill sergeant, half comedian). When mom was alive she told dad what he was hungry for. Now, dad found his hunger independence and he tells me what he's been craving. Last week he says "you know son, turkey and dressing isn't just for Thanksgiving, I'm hungry and I want turkey and dressing. Take me to eat turkey and dressing, right now."

March 11, 2013 Adam Fears is originally from right here in Texas, Tyler to be exact, but he lives, writes, and records in Nashville now, but there was a time when he was practically living in West Texas. A few years ago Adam was a regular around the KEAN studios, I just wished I had kept one of his old interviews just to play them back now that he's got his first national release. I told him back then and I'll say it again "Adam you've got something, go to Nashville and make something happen for yourself." March 9, 2013 George Strait proved once again that he is still the King of Country, by selling out the Alamodome in San Antonio in less than six minutes. 72,000 tickets in under six minutes is a record for George Strait and most definitely a record for the Alamodome too. It just happened that Sir George was in the Alamo City for his 31st Annual George Strait Team Roping Classic, did that have something to do with the fastest and largest sell-out ever? Not according to event organizers, whom speculated that the June 1st concert being one of his last performances may be a bigger contributing factor.
March 9, 2013 Abilene's largest and most popular clay shoot is upon us. The 11th Annual West Texas Rehabilitation Center's Top Gun Classic Clay Shoot is taking place March 21st and 22nd. The classic is at capacity as far as shooters are concerned. As I was broadcasting live at Haught's Tree Service recently, I spoke with the Rehab Centers Director of Marketing and Donor Relations Dan Huggins (who was there picking up prizes), he said "we will never be too full that we can't take another team."

March 7, 2013 One Night Rodeo (ONR), The Next GAC Star winner is a contemporary country sounding band that is from Bradenton, FL. ONR is made up of Cory Hildreth on lead vocals, keys, guitar, and mandolin while Duane Allison plays bass guitar and covers vocals too. For the most part Cory and Duane have 13 years and over 2,000 performances under their belt.ONR has opened for some heavyweights like Rascal Flatts, Keith Urban and Montgomery Gentry to name a few. Now ONR released a fundraising song to benefit the American Cancer Society.
March 6, 2013 Every year it's been the same routine, I'm running around getting everything ready to go on a summer vacation. This time I decided to put together a 'Preparing for Summer Vacation' checklist. I'm always forgetting something, my razor, an mp3 recorder, sunglasses, camera, medicines and even a spare tire (yes, a spare tire). Several years ago I took my spare tire in to have it checked prior to vacation. I forgot to go pick it up before leaving town, can you guess what happened on I-45 just outside of Houston? Four hours and several hundred dollars later we were back on the road again. So here's my list I hope it helps.
March 5, 2013 If you're looking for places to Easter Egg Hunt this Easter in Abilene, I have good news and bad news.
First the bad news, the city-wide Easter Egg Hunt at Oscar Rose Park will not happen this year because according to one of the events organizers, New Hope Church Pastor Michael Chandler, said "I don't believe we were being very evangelical by simply hosting the egg hunt. We saw many people and we were never able to minister to them."
Now for the good news.
