Frakkin' A, it's about time!  Since 2010 'Battlestar Galactica' fans have eagerly awaited news of the prequel series "Blood and Chrome," set to follow a young William Adama in the early days of the Cylon war.  Though shot, the pilot bounced around through various phases before Syfy finally decided to pass, dashing many a fan hope until now.  We've just learned that the series will in fact premiere this Friday, so check out the new trailer inside!

Gods be praised, 'Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome' will finally see the light of day.  According to Entertainment Weekly, the prequel series will make its official debut online friday November 9, as the first of ten 7-12 minute installments to be hosted on Machinima.  Once all ten segments of the series have aired, Syfy will broadcast them as one coherent film in early 2013, followed by the release of an unrated version on home video.

‘Blood & Chrome’ serves as a prequel to the re-imagined ‘Battlestar Galactica’ proper, highlighting the early years of the Human-Cylon war, in which a young William Adama (Luke Pasqualino) operates as a fighter pilot, alongside battle-weary officer Coker (Ben Cotton).  The series is the second attempt to prequel-ize ‘Battlestar Galactica,’ after Syfy series ‘Caprica’ told the story of the Cylons’ creation, lasting only one season before cancellation.

‘Blood & Chrome’ was green-lit for a pilot in October 2010, but didn’t deliver the finished product to Syfy until November 2011 because of lengthy post-production and effects.  “With its top-notch storytelling, pulse-pounding action, and cutting-edge visual effects, 'Blood & Chrome' is the perfect extension of the Battlestar Galactica universe,” said Mark Stern, Syfy programming president. “We are thrilled to see this hotly-anticipated event premiere on Machinima, an online network that is unparalleled in its delivery of high-class digital content to millions of viewers.”

But that's not all!  Check out the new trailer below, and tell us what you think of 'Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome' in the comments!
