Billy Currington has turned himself into police after a bench warrant was issued for his arrest on Wednesday. The singer was indicted by a grand jury on terroristic threats and abuse of an elder charges stemming from an April 15 incident. He was not arrested at the time.

According to police reports, the ‘Good Directions’ singer allegedly threatened 70-year-old charter boat captain Charles Harvey Ferrelle as Ferrelle passed by Currington’s Tybee Island, Ga. property with two fares. On the return trip, Ferrelle says Currington was waiting in his boat, with a camera and he began to race after him.

Late last night more details emerged that showed Currington was also considering looking for a warrant against Ferrelle, alleging his boat’s wake almost knocked a man from his deck. A woman identifying herself as a care taker at Currington’s residence called police one day after Ferrelle contacted authorities.

In the state of Georgia, a terroristic threat is a felony and if found guilty, Currington could face a fine of $1,000 and anywhere from 1-5 years in prison. According to his website, he has scheduled weekend shows in Louisiana and Florida. According to the Chatham County Sheriff’s Dept. website, Currington’s bond was set at $27,000.
