Blake Shelton Gets Sentimental With ‘I Lived It’ Performance at 2018 ACM Awards

Country star and former ACM Awards co-host Blake Shelton took the stage on Sunday evening (April 15) to perform his newest single, "I Lived It," at the 2018 ACM Awards.

In his typical style of denim button-down shirt and jeans, Shelton sat on a stool with his acoustic guitar, and he was joined by a violinist (who also sang backup vocals), a background singer and another guitarist. The spotlight stayed on Shelton, so it didn't feel like a band performance; it was stripped down and intimate.

Shelton's minimalist performance took cues from the music video he released for the song.

Shelton's "I Lived It" video features simple, nostalgic shots of Shelton walking along a dirt road, visiting places from his past and reliving memories of those places.

"I Lived It" is included on Shelton's latest album, Texoma Shore, which was released in the fall of 2017 and highlights some of the same themes present in "I Lived It," including a wistful reflection on the place that you come from and the nostalgia surrounding childhood and home. Shelton recently wrapped his Country Music Freaks Tour, which kicked off in mid-February and included performances from Trace Adkins, Brett Eldredge and Carly Pearce, whom Shelton describes as "some of the best people I've had on a tour."

At the 2018 ACM Awards, Shelton received a nomination in the category of Single Record of the Year for his release "I'll Name the Dogs." It was his first time being nominated at the awards show since 2015.
