Blake Shelton's new single "I'll Name the Dogs" was released on Friday, and he wasted no time debuting it live, performing at the 2017 Canadian Country Music Association Awards on Sunday night (Sept. 10).

It's a hit in the making, reminiscent of the light and love of "Honey Bee." Fans agree — it's the No. 1 country song on iTunes' Top 40 Country Songs list right now. Shelton was at his best on Sunday night, smiling as he sang, from what we can tell in this fan-shot clip. He did not take home any awards at the show — only Canadians are eligible.

The Ultimate Blake and Gwen Playlist!

It'd been a year since we got new music from Shelton, and the romantic, boppy "I'll Name the Dogs" doesn't disappoint. No doubt he was inspired by girlfriend Gwen Stefani — the official music video even features a cameo by her two oldest sons.

Before the song was released, Shelton said it reminded him of older music. "It's traditional country with fiddle and steel and I've got Jimmy Olander from Diamond Rio playing the guitar solo," he says. "It brings the sound back a little more traditional for a minute, which I felt like needed to happen musically for me."

Expect to see a lot of the superstar soon, because he's slated to be back in his big spinning chair on The Voice when Season 13 starts later this month. He's also hosting a benefit for Hurricane Harvey victims on Sept. 12.
