It's no secret that Blake Shelton is one of country music's highest-profile stars. Following the premiere of the third season of NBC's 'The Voice' on Monday, Shelton made a pit stop by 'Late Night With Jimmy Fallon,' where the two guys shared plenty of laughs while getting a little bit of work done at the same time.

The first order of business was plugging Shelton's forthcoming, 'Cheers, It's Christmas' album (in stores on Oct. 2). When asked if the record was a traditional-sounding album or country holiday record, Shelton quipped, "Well have you heard me talk?!" Point made.

Shelton continued to explain that the album -- which features guest vocals by Reba McEntire, Miranda Lambert, Kelly Clarkson, Michael Buble and even his own mother -- was meant to be in the Bing Crosby sense, but that is just not possible when he opens his mouth.

"I didn't mean for it to be [real country]," said the singer. "I tried not to be, actually. I wanted to do like a classic [album]. The instrumentation is like that. It's similar...  but then I come in singing. It's so screwed up!"

It didn't take long for the topic to shift over to 'The Voice,' which Shelton won last season. Fallon set himself up for a wise crack when asking why the singer thinks it is the best singing show on television.

"I'm on it," Shelton said with a shrug and a smirk. "You know... it's those damn buttons. It's gotta be, don't you think? People like those blind auditions where it's the big red chairs, you don't know what's behind you, and there have been times -- I'm not going to lie because we've been doing this long enough now -- that I wish to God that after my chair turned around, that I could hit the button and go back around [laughs]! You can tell by the look on our faces sometimes."

Following a commercial break, Shelton and Fallon decided to have a little more fun before parting ways by having a motorized beer cooler race. With their beer helmets on for safety (and a refreshing cold one installed), the two had to zip through the studio, go down the hall and the circle the keg, then repeat the course one more time. Following their first lap, Shelton knocked over the keg and reversed his route, coming out the winner by just a hair.
