Brad Paisley is one of my favorite artists, not just because of his music but for his person as well. I think Brad has a great personality that most people get along with, similar to George Strait. He has great music, talent, humor, work ethic, and a love of the business so I chose Brad to be this weeks spotlight artist.

When Paisley released his first album in 1999 I was smitten. I loved his music, it was country with a twist of humor. His lyrics were full of poetry and real life and even some banjo; I mean how much more country can you get. He was humble but also knew he had the talent to go far.

He reminded me of a new generation of George Strait, with one exception. Brad writes his own material. I think he has become a great addition to the country music scene and with Strait soon stepping down as the King, I think Brad could assume that role fully.

Brad also has a way of crossing genres, as does Keith Urban. These 'country' guys can play the guitar with exceptional skill which is appreciated no matter what music you listen too. Brad has played with the likes of L.L. Cool J, James Burton, B.B. King, Redd Volkaert, Joe Walsh and more. So for his ability to play guitar with anyone and not take himself to seriously I vote Brad Paisley as my Spotlight Artist of the Week.
