Brandon Lay's new single, "Yada Yada Yada," highlights his knack for penning catchy melodies. The song details a couple's hope for a night in together despite their friends trying to convince them otherwise, and Lay effectively gets his point across.

"No you didn't get dressed up for nothing / Yeah I'm pretty sure we can think of something / A little time with you is all I've been wanting / No you didn't get dressed up for nothing," the Tennessee native croons.

After just one spin, the infectious song sticks with you. Lay's whispered vocals coupled with delicate percussion and striking guitar accompaniment make "Yada Yada Yada" a must-listen, and maybe a must-playlist. Lay co-wrote his new laid-back tune with Heather Morgan and Mikey Reaves, and upon its release earlier this month, "Yada Yada Yada" was the No. 1 most-added song at country radio.

“I had the melody in my head one day as I was driving home from a gig but I didn’t have any lyrics yet, so I was just humming yada yada yada as dummy lyrics (into my phone)," Lay shares. "A few days later I was in a writing room with the voice memo and Mikey and Heather thought that would make a pretty good title in itself so we went with it. It’s a fun tune that I hope people will enjoy.”

Brandon Lay's "Yada Yada Yada" Lyrics:

I'm pulling into your subdivision / I'm turning on that tunnel vision / Yeah, the radio's on but I ain't even listening / 'Cause baby I've got tunnel vision

All your girls are at home, getting all dolled up / Calling, wonderin' if you're gonna roll / All my boys are like, "There's a party going on" / Blowing up my phone, saying, "Man, let's go"

Chorus

Pop a top, raise a little hell / Drinking every drop of liquor on the shelf / But it's all yada, yada, yada / Baby, 'cause I gotcha / Take that purse, drop it on the floor / 'Cause you and me ain't got nowhere to go / All I need, you got a lot of / Yada, yada, yada / Don't need the bright lights / No Jack, no coke / Just give me you and the way you move / And baby, that's all she wrote

No you didn't get dressed up for nothing / Yeah I'm pretty sure we can think of something / A little time with you is all I've been wanting / No you didn't get dressed up for nothing

Chorus

All your girls are at home getting all dolled up / Calling, wondering if you're gonna roll / All my boys are like, "There's a party going on" / Blowing up my phone

Chorus
