The Brothers Osborne view their 2018 Grammy nomination for Best Country Duo/Group Performance for "It Ain't My Fault" somewhat like reaching the top of a mountain they've been climbing for a long time.

T.J. Osborne explains how most artists dream of soaring to heights that include ACM and CMA Awards, with the Grammy Awards serving as the pinnacle of the music mountain. Though humbled by the honor, he admits that the years of hard work he and brother John Osborne put in make dreams like this feel more achievable. They also earned a nomination in 2015 for "Stay a Little Longer" and in 2017 for "21 Summer."

"I got up and as soon as I saw that I was wide awake ... my adrenaline was just pumping," he tells Taste of Country about how he felt when he got the exciting news.

They celebrated later that night with friends over dinner and a bottle of Champagne. "To simply have a nomination is just wild. You think these are kind of like in your wildest dreams of things that would happen and then they start happening and it's like 'wow, it's really not that far out of reach.'"

It's that message T.J. hopes to instill in other artists working to reach these same heights, hoping they'll see that endless hard work and passion can lead to achieving one's most desirable dreams, even if it seems inconceivable. "There's kind of a limit where you think, 'Man, I'm going to call it quits,' and you just stay true, keep going, keep hitting the grind. And the next thing you know, you end up with a damn Grammy nomination."

The brothers hit another milestone with their performance at the 2017 CMA Awards, lighting up the stage with "It Ain't My Fault" and "Tulsa Time" in tribute to Don Williams, bringing the audience of peers to its feet that served as a symbolic moment for the fast-rising country act.

"I think it's good in one hand to have a bunch of people to see you win awards, but it's really important for people to see your musicianship," T.J. explains. "And so I think that was a really, kind of defining moment for us and I think one that definitely was a very long shot. And we got it, and luckily we performed well."

The 2018 Grammy Awards will air live from Madison Square Garden on Jan. 28 at 7:30PM ET on CBS.
