Understanding the 'Affordable Care Act' (ACA) especially for for people living with cancer, could take a law and/or medical degree. The Folks at Cancer Services Network are holding workshop to help you better understand the ACA, December 12th, 2012. The workshop will cover topics like; Cancer Treatment Overviews, the Costs of Cancer (direct medical costs and related non-medical costs), Daily Living Expenses and so much more. This will be a 'brown bag' luncheon workshop with drinks and desert provided.

The workshop will also teach you how to talking with your health care professional about your care and about patient assistance programs. Cancer Services Network (CSN) invites you to attend the workshop on 'Understanding the Affordable Care Act for People Living with Cancer' at 12:00 Noon, Wednesday, December 12, 2012.

Leading experts in oncology will provide the most up-to-date information in audio format.For reservations please call the CSN office at (325)672-0040. CSN provides post-diagnosis assistance to cancer patients, cancer survivors and their families and caregivers through direct financial, emotional, and educational programs. CSN, an agency of the United Way of Abilene, provides services in 19- counties of West Central Texas. Financial assistance is provided to cancer patients in active treatment and is based on a sliding scale. Emotional and social support programs are provided free of charge to anyone regardless of income.
