Carrie Underwood's Houston, Texas-area fans will have to wait just a little bit longer to see the country superstar live. The singer has postponed her Tuesday night (April 19) show in Houston, Texas, due to severe weather in the area.

Underwood made the announcement via social media on Monday (April 18): "Stay safe Houston!" the message reads, along with announcing the concert's rescheduled date of April 25.

According to CNN, at least five people have died due to flooding in the Houston area. Hundreds of residents have been forced to evacuate, and thousands of homes and business were left without power; Harris County Emergency Management tells the news organization that more than 1,200 rescues have been made. The National Weather Service has a flash flood watch in effect for the area until Wednesday morning.

Underwood's Storyteller Tour will continue on to Bossier City, La., and Lafayette, La., on Friday (April 22) and Sunday (April 24), respectively, before coming back to Houston on Tuesday (April 25). Easton Corbin and the Swon Brothers are her special guests. The artist recently extended her trek through late November.

“I always love being on the road performing for my fans, but something about this tour feels more magnetic than ever,” Underwood admits. “Having a 360-degree view of the audience gives me the opportunity to connect with more fans and feed off their energy. I can’t wait to continue this tour into the fall!”
