Country artists have played via satellite before, but never like this. Carrie Underwood's Saturday (Aug. 3) set at WE Fest in Detroit Lakes, Minn. was preceded by an introduction from the International Space Station. Astronaut Karen Nyberg had the honor, and did so without the assistance of gravity.

Nyberg floats effortlessly in this short video. She's stable until the very end, when she purposely spins around, having fun in her space module. The shoutout from 255 miles above Earth was about the only thing that could have topped one of country music's biggest superstars playing for 47,000 fans.

It likely wasn't difficult to convince Nyberg to do the job. She's a big fan of the singer and of WE Fest, having grown up in nearby Vining, Minn. Kellie Pickler, Darius Rucker and Kenny Rogers also played the country music festival over the weekend.
