One of the biggest differences AISD students will notice as they get back to school are the choices they will have in the cafeteria this year. The Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010 is officially going into effect this fall, and that means there will be new requirements from the children going through the lunch line.
Can you believe we are talking about back to school already? It’s not even the end of July yet but before you know it, it will be time to start shopping for school supplies and clothing for the new year. Texas tax free weekend is one month away and is a great way to save a little money while getting the things you need.

Everyone will need school supplies but sometimes money can be tight and folks could use a little help. That’s where “stuff the bus” locations can provide some relief.
Trinity Baptist Church youth Pastor Joseph Plagge says they’re planning one last bash before school starts. The event is will take place at Trinity Baptist Church located at 871 Woodlawn Drive. It is free and open to children ages 3 years old thru 5th grade. Plagge says “this will also be a perfect opportunity to introduce neighborhood children to AWANA.”
