The KEAN 105 and Rock 108 St. Jude Radiothon raised over $38,580 in the 26 hour broadcast Thursday and Friday. The fund-raising is not over, KEAN’s sister rock-station Rock 108 is hosting a concert Monday evening at the Lucky Mule, proceeds will benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The Country Throwdown Tour, one of the biggest country tours of the year, just announced their 2012 lineup. While the star-studded run was fronted last year by its crowning jewel Willie Nelson, this year’s showcase will display the talents of Gary Allan, Justin Moore, Rodney Atkins, Josh Thompson, Eric Paslay and Sunny Sweeney.
During Saturday night’s Virtual Reality Tour stop in Denver, Colo. (Jan. 21), Brad Paisley called hometown hero Tim Tebow — who was at the show with his brothers and friends — to the stage. The Denver Broncos quarterback was brought onstage prior to Paisley performing his No. 1 hit, ‘I’m Still a Guy,’ and the athlete helped the singer out, doing surprise duet for the unsuspecting crowd.
It appears that Jason Aldean isn’t quite done bringing the party via his ‘My Kinda Party’ album. The famed dirt road-lovin’ singer is reportedly dropping one more song from the record, ‘Flyover States,’ as his next single.
Jackson Taylor, known for his “outlaw country sound,” brings it to Abilene to assist West-Texans ring in the New Year. Taylor and his band “The Sinners” will be playing live at Southern Nights, Saturday night. It’s been several years since we’ve had a well known country artist play at a new years eve bash here in Abilene.
As of last week the Brantley Gilbert concert with special guest Thomas Rhett sold out. The show will be at Guitars and Cadillac’s Friday night December 16 and for those holding tickets the doors will open at 7PM. However, for those of us who didn’t buy a ticket (yes, me included) here is a video of what has been happening at the Taste Of Country concert tour. At some point in the show both Gilbert and Rhett sing the song Brantley wrote for Jason Aldean Dirt Road Anthem.
Country music’s modern day outlaw, Eric Church, will be burning up the road once again in 2012 on his newly announced Blood, Sweat and Beers Tour. The trek will launch on Jan. 19 in Fort Smith, Ark. and will run through May, covering over 50 dates along the way.
