The 11th annual Top Gun Clay Shoot benefiting the West Texas Rehab Center is scheduled for March 22nd and 23rd at the Abilene Clay Sports south range. It's the first year as a two-day event and the firsrt time it will feature two separate courses to shoot from. This clay shoot is one of the more popular clay shoots in West Texas, with more shotguns given away and more prizes as well. A sign-up discount is being offered if registered by Thursday, February 28th.
In honor of February being Black History Month the Abilene Black Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) will present their 2nd annual Sunday's Best Gospel Fest. You will hear a wonderful selection of gospel music from some of Abilene's best artists and church choirs.

The "Free Immunization Clinics" and the "Care Vans" are a direct result of several organizations working together to offer these services in Abilene. You know what 'Relay for Life' is right? Well just imagine the very same thing, but only with the family pet. The American Cancer Society (ACS) in Abilene is holding the first ever 'Bark for Life' here at 'Camp Barkley' next to Grover Nelson Park. Unlike 'Relay for Life,' the Bark for Life will go from 9 AM until 1 PM whereas Relay for Life goes from 7 PM until 7 AM. The four hour four legged event will be much like the human event a "fun and festive atmosphere" complete with a survivor lap and games.
