4 weeks ago The answer to the question "What's for dinner?" will be a lot easier on Tuesday, April 30th, as the Abilene Civic Center will host 'Taste of Abilene 2013'. The event, presented by the Abilene Rotary Club and the Abilene Restaurant Association, will showcase about 3 dozen restaurants and caterers from the Abilene area. It will benefit local non-profit organizations and community organizations.

4 weeks ago I went to The Flipping Egg one morning to have breakfast with my son, and noticed there was a framed picture on the wall of a customer holding an empty plate. After a little investigating, I found out this guy is the lone champion of 'The 10 Pancake Challenge'. The breakfast diner has been offering a food-eating challenge for a while, yet that man stands as the lone conqueror. And they're not the only Abilene restaurant to offer to put customers to the test.

The reason I found this interesting is because I had just finished a eating a burger off the grill; my 3rd in 4 days.

April 9, 2013 I was back on the road again this weekend, taking my road trip to places I can make in a day. Since spring turkey season started last weekend, I found myself in Albany for the Wild Turkey Foundations (WTF) annual banquet. I thought of stopping at the infamous 'Beehive,' but time didn't allow it on that trip. As I drove home that night, I continued thinking about past hunting trips and the places me and my hunting buddies would frequent. Well known places like the Beehive Restaurant and Saloon in Albany, El Cazadores, Rancho Loma, Casa Cabana and the Lowake Steak House in Lowake Texas. The later was this trips destination.
