April 11, 2013 A couple of weeks ago Paul Washburn with Rescue the Animals and Aaron Vannoy Animal Services Manager for the City of Abilene approached me with the idea of me living in that over-sized doghouse again, to draw attention to the unwanted animals at area shelters. I thought about it for a minute and said yes. The reason for me doing it again is simple, we are so close to setting an all time record for animals adopted here in Abilene that I'd hate to miss setting a new record while saving more pets.

Gunman Dead After Holding Five Firefighters Hostage in Georgia
The man who held five firefighters hostage in Suwanee, Ga. earlier on Wednesday has been shot and killed by SWAT members. Four hostages are slightly injured, but authorities say they should be OK.
