The intersection of Catclaw and Southwest Drive will be very busy on Saturday, June 1st, as Kent's Harley-Davidson hosts the "Ride for Our Warriors" motorcycle rally, to benefit the "Wounded Warrior Project." The event will have several raffle items, live entertainment, a poker run, food and several special guests will be on hand signing autographs. So get on your bike and come join the fun.
The "Cars 4-A Cure" car show, dance and cruise benefits the Abilene Firefighters Association's Fill the Boot campaign for MDA. The a car show will feature lots of muscle cars and will take place at the Gattis parking lot at 2668 Buffalo Gap Road, Saturday, June 15th. Prizes and trophies will be awarded that afternoon.
The public was shocked yesterday when it was revealed that Angelina Jolie had undergone a preventive double or bi-lateral mastectomy, only she hadn't been diagnosed with breast cancer. It was a preventive measure as tests showed she had an 87% chance of getting cancer in the future. I'm not sure if people were more shocked at what she had done or the fact that it had been kept secret for so long. Either way it was water cooler talk for the day.
