Annual Big Country Balloon Fest Returns to Abilene September 26th and 27th

The 20th Annual Big Country Balloon Fest is set to take flight September 26th and 27th at Red Bud Park in Abilene. Robin Hicks event organizer said "this is our biggest year yet, we have many balloons returning to participate in our Big Country Balloon Fest." The festival also includes music, food and games. ‘Run to Remember 911′ is a 9.11 Kilometer Run September 6th at Red Bud Park Abilene

The first "Run to Remember" in Abilene is Sept. 6th. What makes this run special from all other 5k or 10k's is that it's a 9.11 kilometer run or just over five and a half miles. The run/walk will pause and pay tribute to the victims of September 11, 2001. This fundraiser benefits Jim Ned Volunteer Fire Department and the Air Force Sergeants Association Big Country Chapter 1056. This run is hosted by the Abilene Runners Club.
