Just as one pet was being adopted, someone else would step up to the table and say "I want that little guy there, how much is he, and who do I pay?" Aaron Vannoy with the City's Animal Shelter says "the final numbers are still being counted, but one thing is for certain, we beat last years numbers." Rescue the Animals worker Mindy said "I know how many forms be brought and we ran out."

April 15, 2013 The first ever 'High Heel Dash' to benefit Children's Miracle Network (CMN) in Abilene this past Saturday (April 13th, 2013) was a lot of fun. All of the guys that ran in high heels were good sports about it, some even dressing the part. As for the ladies, many that raced brought their game faces and some even camped out by the starting line. Nonetheless, when the Mayor started the race, all eyes were fixed on every runner.
