Did you know Abilene has a Planetarium? If you have elementary aged kids then you might; but did you know it's also open to the public? Only a handful of planetariums exist in Texas so this is a treat for Abilene. You don't have to be on a school 'field trip' in order to visit the planetarium either. It's very inexpensive and a great learning experience for the young and old.

Last year, my wife and I bought our very first house. And, one of the cool things about our new house is the Ecobee Smart Wifi Thermostat.  This bad boy is totally digital and you can stay connected to it and actually control your house temperature and other settings from anywhere with the help of the Ecobee app for your smart phone.

In something that might come out of a science fiction movie, a 700 ton ship in California make a research station by simply flipping vertically in the sea. FLIP (FLoating Instrument Platform) is designed to study wave height, acoustic signals, water temperature and density, and for the collection of meteorological data. This is a really cool invention that I would love to have. It's called a Cardok and it allows you to stack your cars for parking purposes and then lower one car into the ground. It's something my household could definitely use.
