Cody Johnson celebrated the upcoming release of his new album Ain’t Nothin’ to It with an appearance on the Today show to perform his rising hit "On My Way to You."

The song is already climbing the charts, has been streamed more than 25 million times and has sold nearly 240,000 track equivalents. It shows a little bit of the magic that makes Johnson who he is as an artist.

"For me, it's authenticity," Johnson said when asked about what makes a good country song before his Today debut. "I don’t sing music that I don't believe in. Even if it's a fun song, it has to be real. If it doesn't have that realism, it's kind of hard to sing for me."

Johnson is back on the road starting Jan. 19 to continue the momentum. "It's really fun when you start to make some momentum," he says, speaking of his career ascent. "It's fun. I try to keep my head down and just do my job. I don't really think about it too much."

The Texas country stay also recently announced the release of his own hat line, and he says it's an honor. "I have worn a hat my whole life and I love the quality of Resistol hats and everything they stand for. There is no other brand of hats I would rather wear. I am excited to be able to offer these to my fans."
