Here's proof that teachers can have an amazing impact on more than their students. A teacher fighting breast cancer was given an incredible show of support when fellow teachers donated their sick days to her.

The faculty used a little known 'Catastrophic Illness Donation Program' to contribute their sick days to Carol Clark, a 6th grade teacher who used up all of her sick days battling cancer. Within days coworkers - as well as teachers from other area schools - had signed up to donate 154 days worth of their own sick leave.

While there are still medical procedures ahead for Clark, being given nearly an entire school year's worth of sick days gives her one less thing to worry about.

Here's the news report from CBS-Los Angeles

If you're wondering, there are similar programs in place that could benefit Abilene ISD and Wiley ISD employees, just in case.
