Hall of Fame quarterback Dan Marino has something that the other men on the CBS ‘The NFL Today’ show don’t — a Super Bowl ring a kid out of wedlock

In a written statement to the New York Post, Marino admitted to fathering a child with Donna Savattere, a production assistant at CBS Sports, with whom he worked. Savattere gave birth to their daughter, Chloe, in June 2005. Marino is still married to his wife Claire and the couple has six children together.

Marino came clean about the affair in a letter to the NY Post. Here was the original plan Savattere and Marino agreed on in the huddle.

“Marino agreed to pay Savattere millions to care for Chloe, sources say, and she moved to Texas as part of the deal. It’s not clear exactly how much Marino paid. But after getting the dough, Savattere apparently started living large. She soon returned to New York from the Lone Star State, splitting her time between the Upper West Side and the Hamptons, where she became a fixture on the social scene.”

Looks like somewhere down the line Savattere called an audible.

CBS will broadcast Super Bowl 47 this Sunday and Marino still plans to do the pregame show.
