Oscar Nominee Daniel Day-Lewis Is a Silver Fox – The Daily Swoon
We can appreciate an older gentleman around here, which is why today we’re praising the good looks of Oscar favorite Daniel Day-Lewis, who’s nominated for his role in ‘Lincoln.’
Who knew Abraham Lincoln could be so hot? To borrow from ‘Wayne’s World,’ more like BABE-raham Lincoln, right?! Ugh. I hate myself for that joke, too, guys.
Anyway. Daniel Day-Lewis is a total silver fox, and you’d hardly guess he’s 56 years old. The very serious actor spends a lot of time preparing for roles, often immersing himself so deeply in his parts that he becomes the character and refuses to live with any modern devices or comforts when filming period pieces. (Or he at least makes everyone text him in character.)
You may have seen his great work in movies like ‘Gangs of New York’ or ‘There Will Be Blood,’ both films in which he played bad guys, so it was great to see him play one of the best good guys in history when he took on the part of Lincoln.
Day-Lewis is part Jewish, part Irish, and 100 percent sexy with that glorious gray hair and those steely eyes. We even forgive him for wearing earrings because somehow he’s the only guy who can make them look forgivable.
