They took away our 'Dislike' button. They tricked us into using the 'Timeline' format. They make it a constant struggle to avoid unwanted game invitations. Now, Facebook is introducing the 'Want' button.

The 'Want' button, the latest big thing to come from the marketing minds of Facebook, is a way to allow users to collect 'wish lists' of things they want, and even buy items through Facebook. The social network prefers to call these things 'collections'. For now, home furnishings, clothing, and some other select retail products will be the focal point of the 'Want' button. Pottery Barn and Victoria's Secret are among the retail partners in this venture. Facebook does not charge a fee to facilitate the sale. For now.

According to a Reuters article, Facebook stated,

"People will be able to engage with these collections and share things they are interested in with their friends. People can click through and buy these items off of Facebook."

Some Facebook users embrace the new updates, and others feel they have been put through enough unwanted change brought on by the social networking site. Some might consider the 'Want' button convenient, while others (like me) worry that this is just another way Facebook will force things I don't need - or want - into my life, and that it's only the beginning of a bigger, more annoying feature on the social networking site.

How do you feel about the 'Want' button? Take this quick survey and let us know, and feel free to leave a comment, too.
