There's a big difference between these two gents: One is a gruff, masculine lumberjack who I would kiss, and the other most likely has scaly winter skin.

Look, I know you don't care very much about things like moisturizer, but women do, and we're the ones you want to sleep with. Taking care of yourself and your body shows us that you care about yourself, and as someone awesome once said: "If you can't love yourself, how the hell you gonna love anyone else?" I'm not telling you who said that. Ok fine, it was Ru Paul.

Take care of your skin this winter, and we promise to touch it. It's easy, I promise.

PART ONE: PREVENTION

There is still time! The best way to avoid the problems associated with dry skin is to never have dry skin. How do you do that? Easy! Dry skin happens when your skin becomes dehydrated and loses some of it's natural moisturizers. So, don't let that happen:

  • Drink plenty of water.
  • Eat a diet rich in antioxidants (broccoli, spinach) and EFA's (salmon).
  • Exercise to stimulate blood flow and rejuvenate your skin. Sweat is also a natural moisturizer! Sex counts as exercise, duh.
  • Shower less in the winter, because it washes away your body's natural oils.
  • Limit your skin's direct exposure to the elements.

STEP TWO: CORRECTION

If you're already a little scaly around the elbows, or your skin is starting to feel tight, you've got dry skin already. Please fix it, okay? Here's how:

  • Start doing everything you weren't doing in step one, slacker.
  • Exfoliate to remove dead skin cells. Use a loofah, it feels good. We won't tell anyone.
  • Use an oil-based moisturizer at least once a day, preferably after you shower.
  • If you have forced-air heat in your house, this is probably a big part of the problem, so get a humidifier for your bedroom.
You can leave your palms a little rough, if you want. I mean, please leave your palms rough, ok? That's sexy.
