CMA Awards nominee Eric Church took the stage on Country Music's Biggest Night to perform his song "Chattanooga Lucy." The 2017 CMA Awards ceremony was held Wednesday night (Nov. 8), at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena.

Church delivered a powerful, soulful, performance backed by pulsing red lights, killer background vocals and what appeared to be a Jack Daniels bottle turned into a shaker. But while Church gave a solid performance, it was Joanna Cotten on backup vocals who almost stole the show. Cotten frequently performs with Church at his live shows and is known for her powerful voice (and super-fun stage presence).

Church's busy 2017 earned him nominations for Entertainer of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year and Musical Event of the Year (for "Kill a Word") at the 2017 CMA Awards. Church spent much of the year out on the road for his massive Holdin' My Own Tour, still seeing success from 2015's Mr. Misunderstood. As for 2018, Church is already slated to headline the Taste of Country Music Festival in June.
