College football fans are gearing up for the finale of another exciting season, and Eric Church will be right in the middle of it. The singer has been selected to headline the Championship Tailgate, a series of pre-game entertainment taking place all day leading up to the event in Glendale, Ariz., on Jan. 11.

The performances are free to Championship ticket holders and will kick off at 11AM, running through 5PM The game — in which the University of Alabama and Clemson University will face off — will air at 7PM ET on ESPN.

Canaan Smith has also been chosen to sing “America the Beautiful” with members of the Phoenix Children’s Choir prior to kickoff.

Church released his latest album Mr. Misunderstood unexpectedly in November and has since been tuning fans in to his more sensitive side with the title track, a tribute to kids who feel marginalized and lonely. He also released a collaboration with Hank Williams Jr. on the legend’s cover of “Are You Ready for the Country?” which the duo performed together at the 2015 CMAs. The artist was nominated for five awards that evening, including Entertainer of the Year, and went home with the award for Vocal Event of the Year for his duet with Keith Urban, “Raise ‘Em Up.”

The singer-songwriter gets back on the road in late February for a European tour starting in Stockholm, Sweden and will return to the U.S. for a performance in March at the Runaway Country Festival in Kissimmee, Fla.
