Austin may be the Live Music Capitol of the World, but it is also now the home for ESPN's Summer X Games, beginning in 2014. This will be the first time the X Games have taken place outside of Los Angeles in 11 years when it jumps into action May 15th-18th, 2014 at the Circuit of The America's complex.

Circuit of The Americas (COTA) is a 1,600-acre sports and entertainment venue just 20 minutes southeast of downtown Austin. It's primary use is Formula 1 racing, as well as major concerts.

The majority of the X Games will take place at COTA, while the remainder will wrap up downtown Austin.

Austin was one of four finalists in the running to take Los Angeles' spot as host of the ESPN event.

Looks like it's time to plan a roadtrip down to Austin in 2014.
