Faith Hill couldn’t be happier for her husband Tim McGraw after his performance at the 2016 ACM Awards Sunday night (April 3). The star sang his powerful single “Humble and Kind," and after the event, Hill posted a photo on Facebook, giving her man a smooch against the backdrop of Las Vegas and noting how proud she was of him.

McGraw's performance at the ACMs was one of the most poignant of the night, as he delivered the heartfelt tune with sincerity, and soon the stage flooded with people representing all different ages, races, creeds and professions, similar to the touching music video for the song, which features a variety of people all on the same journey. The compelling performance earned a standing ovation at the ceremony.

The WE Fest 2016 headliner has talked a lot about the personal meaning of “Humble and Kind” for him, particularly with regard to his children growing up. Written by Lori McKenna as a sort of letter to her kids, the song made McGraw especially emotional when he recorded it thinking about his own girls.

“I cried through every take,” he confessed. “I would try to get myself together and I’d get halfway through it and I would just start blubbering every time I tried to sing a line.”

Though he had known the song for a while, it didn’t seem like the right time to record it until now, for his latest album Damn Country Music. Its universal message and resonance has made it a huge hit for the artist already, resulting in a recently-announced adaptation into a book.

The book will feature lyrics from the song with accompanying illustrations, as well as an introduction from McGraw and epilogue from McKenna.

“It is a rare moment when a song comes along that speaks equally to the world and the individual,” McGraw says in a press release. “A song that transcends. A song that reaches into the heart of everyone who hears it. ‘Humble and Kind’ is one of those songs.”

Humble and Kind, the book, is slated for release May 17.
