‘Fast & Furious 6′ Poster: All Roads Lead to This
When 'The Fast and the Furious' came out in 2001, it was a hit, but it certainly wasn't enough of a hit for anyone to predict that it would spawn five increasingly successful and popular sequels. With 'Fast & Furious 6' hitting theaters in a few months, it has the tough job of living up to the massively successful 'Fast Five,' but with much of the cast and director Justin Lin returning, we have a good feeling about it. Although you'll get the first trailer during the Super Bowl tomorrow, you can start getting excited by taking a look at the first teaser poster.
Starring Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Dwayne Johnson, Jordana Brewster, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Sung Kang, Gal Gadot, Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, Elsa Pataky, Luke Evans and Gina Carano, 'Fast & Furious 6' continues two series traditions: the cast is increasingly bursting at the seams and the title has, once again, taken a boldly stupid turn (people who like to alphabetize their DVDs will weep when they have to sort these movies). Has any movie series has less continuity between titles?
Titles, schmitles. As long as 'Fast & Furious 6' features beefy men and attractive women driving really fast cars, it'll hit all of the right buttons. The only lingering question at this point is how much The Rock will sweat this time around. Here's the official synopsis and, below that, the poster:
"Since Dom (Diesel) and Brian's (Walker) Rio heist toppled a kingpin's empire and left their crew with $100 million, our heroes have scattered across the globe. But their inability to return home and living forever on the lam have left their lives incomplete.
Meanwhile, Hobbs (Johnson) has been tracking an organization of lethally skilled mercenary drivers across 12 countries, whose mastermind (Evans) is aided by a ruthless second-in-command revealed to be the love Dom thought was dead, Letty (Rodriguez). The only way to stop the criminal outfit is to outmatch them at street level, so Hobbs asks Dom to assemble his elite team in London. Payment? Full pardons for all of them so they can return home and make their families whole again."
'Fast & Furious 6' hits theaters on May 24th. It's probably going to make a bajillion dollars.
