It’s officially that time again, as broadcast TV prepares to draw its seasons to a May close, so will Flash Season 2 and Arrow Season 4 stick the landing? Find out in the first synopses, as Zoom’s true plans send Barry into the race of his life, while Oliver gets help from a surprising place to defeat Damien Darhk.

Only three episodes remaining in either season, both Flash and Arrow have released the first synopses from their May 24 and 25 finale, the first of which sees Barry unsurprisingly slotted into one last speedy showdown with Zoom. After this week’s climactic closer however, he may not be alone in the fight:

“The Race of His Life”

THE FLASH VS. ZOOM – After Zoom (guest star Teddy Sears) reveals his true plan, Barry (Grant Gustin) vows to do whatever it takes to stop him. Antonio Negret directed the episode written by Aaron Helbing & Todd Helbing.

Meanwhile, Oliver gets some mysterious aid in the battle against Damien Darhk, but whom? Will it be someone with magic of their own? A familiar face from another world, perhaps?

“Schism”

OLIVER TEAMS UP WITH A SURPRISING FORCE TO STOP DAMIEN DARHK – Oliver (Stephen Amell) teams up with a surprising force in an attempt to stop Damien Darhk (guest star Neal McDonough) and his magic once and for all. John Behring directed the episode with story by Greg Berlanti and teleplay by Wendy Mericle and Marc Guggenheim.

Granted, there’s still runaway dinosaurs and a few things lost in the flood between here and there, but will Arrow and Flash manage to wrap up some complicated seasons with enough to warm us over for the fall?
