Free Childhood Immunizations Available May 17th in Abilene

With the school year winding down and summer upon us, there’s an opportunity to be sure your children are up to date with their immunizations for the 2012-2013 school year. Abilene Care Van and the Caring For Children Foundation of Texas is sponsoring free childhood immunizations this Thursday, May 17th. Qualifying kids can be brought to Medical Care Mission, 1857 Pine in Abilene from 5-7.

Immunizations are available to children up to 18 years old. Kids must be Texas Vaccine for Children eligible, meaning they qualify as American Indian or Alaskan, having no insurance, CHIP, Medicaid, or insurance that does not pay for vaccines.

And if the summer has your child riding a bike a lot, this event is also  an opportunity for children between 4-12 years of age to receive free bicycle helmets.

Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Parents and guardians are asked to please bring your child’s immunization record.
