We've been amused by the ongoing teasers for FX's upcoming border drama 'The Bridge' that have run the gamut from unsettling to bizarre without giving away much of anything about the series itself. But at long last, a new behind the scenes featurette gives us an honest look at the buzzworthy FX drama premiering July 10. So are you ready to cross 'The Bridge?'

Artful though the past teasers may have been, the latest look inside 'The Bridge' delivers what we've been waiting to see for months. The new featurette (courtesy of FX) goes behind the scenes with stars Diane Kruger and Demian Bichir, along with director Gerardo Naranjo, to preview the dark nature of the series with plenty of new footage and character details. Plus, there's even a tiger!

Based on the original Danish/Swedish drama of the same name, FX's latest head-turner is executive produced by Meredith Stiehm and novelist/television writer/producer Elwood Reid, and described by FX thusly:

‘The Bridge’ is a present-day crime thriller exploring the tensions on the US-Mexico border. When an American judge known for her anti-immigration views is found dead on the bridge connecting El Paso and Juarez, Sonya Cross (Diane Kruger) from El Paso PD must work with her Mexican counterpart from Chihuahua State Police, Marco Ruiz (Demian Bichir), to catch a serial killer operating on both sides of the border.

Marco understands the slippery politics of Mexican law enforcement, and while his police force slowly succumbs to the pressures and demands of the cartel, he’s one of the last good men in the department. He’s charming, but also cunning as he will do whatever it takes to get what he needs. This does not sit well with Sonya, who has Asperger’s and strictly follows rules as well as protocol. Her candid and off-putting personality fuels an unforgiving drive for truth.

The case quickly pulls them into a string of murders on the border, a scene already consumed by illegal immigration, drug trafficking, violence and prostitution.

The above featurette definitely gets us more interested than the previous teasers. But tell us in the comments what you think and if you’ll cross ‘The Bridge’ when the new series premieres on July 10!
