The city of Nashville took part in a telethon benefiting those affected by the devastating wildfires in Gatlinburg, Tenn. Last week Nashville’s NBC affiliate hosted The Smoky Mountain Wildfires Telethon and included performances and wishes of hope from country stars like Kenny Chesney and more.

John Rich, John Oates, Kristian Bush and Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine with his daughter Electra were also announced as performers. Additionally, nearly 20 other artists are set to make an appearance on the telethon, including Ty Herndon, Bill Worrell, Kara Thompson, Kinsey Rose, Ayla Brown and former The Voice contestant Nolan Neal.

In addition to Parton’s involvement in the NBC telethon, the singer is hosting her own telethon on Dec. 13 for those affected by the wildfires in east Tennessee, MusicRow reports.

“I know there are a lot of great events being planned to help the people of East Tennessee, however, I am planning a telethon to support the My People Fund where 100 percent of the money will help those who lost their homes in the wildfire. I am planning on doing this on Dec. 13th in Nashville, Tennessee,” the singer says.

Parton’s My People Fund, established through the Dollywood Company and the Dollywood Foundation, will provide $1,000 each month for six months to Sevier County families who lost their homes in the fires.
