George Jones’ Farewell Concert in Nashville Adds Garth Brooks, Kid Rock + More

When iconic country singer George Jones performs the final concert date of his career at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena on Friday, Nov. 22, 2013, he'll have plenty of company. The music legend will be joined by a who's who in music to help celebrate his nearly six decades as a recording artist, and the list keeps growing. The latest additions to the all-star cast for The Possum's final show include Garth Brooks, Kid Rock, Shelby Lynne, the Oak Ridge Boys and Sam Moore.

For the historic event, several others have also been confirmed, including Dierks Bentley, Charlie Daniels, Jamey Johnson, Montgomery Gentry, Lorrie Morgan, Kenny Rogers, Randy Travis, Tanya Tucker, Josh Turner and Gene Watson. Jones, known by many as "the greatest living country singer", has amassed nearly 150 Top 40 hits, including 'I Don't Need Your Rockin' Chair,' 'The Grand Tour,' 'White Lightning' and 'He Stopped Loving Her Today.'  He's won two Grammys, and is a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award recipient. On top of that, Jones was a 2008 Kennedy Center Honor recipient, is a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame, and holds a National Medal of Arts medallion.

The Possum's 44 date farewell, dubbed 'The Grand Tour' will conclude in the star-studded Nashville farewell show. In a press release, Jones said:

“Being joined by so many incredible singers while doing what I love will be truly heartwarming. It’s shaping up to be more than I expected or could have ever imagined."
