HBO gave us an early sneak peek at 'Girls' season 3 with the Instagram-y teaser trailer back in August, but now having officially set the return of Lena Dunham's Golden Globe-winning comedy for January 2014, we've got a much more substantial look at new footage and behind-the-scenes production. Find out who's depressed, who's working at a pizza shop, and who's waking up in random boys' beds in the first look at 'Girls' season 3!

Quite a bit appears to have changed by the time we pick up with 'Girls' season 3 on January 12, 2014, at least since season 2 finale "Together." Not only does the latest behind-the-scenes preview from HBO reveal that Hannah seems to have gotten her act together significantly, both with Adam and her writing career, but Shoshannah continues her "awakening" with the opposite sex, while Jessa ... does Jessa things. Marnie, meanwhile, has the sudden departure of Charlie (Christopher Abbott) weighing on her, taking her to work at Ray's successful business amid all the depression.

We know of ‘Girls’ season 3 that the next run has expanded to 12 episodes, and has had casting calls that suggest a character would somehow end up in rehabJon Hamm‘s wife Jennifer Westfeldt has been observed filming on the set, while Michael Zegen (‘Boardwalk Empire‘) has been announced in an unknown role, along with ‘Orange is the New Black‘ star Danielle Brooks. Other guest stars include ‘Doctor Who‘ star Richard E. Grant, ‘Crystal Fairy’ star Gabby Hoffmann, ‘The To Do List‘ star Sarah Steele and ‘Zero Hour‘ star Amir Arison.
